After forays into printmaking, drop spindle spinning, weaving and dyeing, and then twenty years of working in clay, Mary Julyan returned to painting, primarily in oils. Plein air and studio landscapes, quick figure poses, and some studio figure work are her primary subjects. She maintains a private studio in her Echo Canyon home, which backs up against the Sandia Mountains and looks out at the Manzanos. She maintains membership in the NMAL (New Mexico Art League), PAPNM (Plein Air Painters of New Mexico), and RGAA (Rio Grande Art Association). |
